What medical physician specializes
in dizziness or conditions of unsteadiness?
The answer is none.
The issue of safely defeating gravity and moving through one’s environment, which is needed to both grow and maintain the brain, has often been “turfed” to audiologists. Like Dr. Frank, audiologists do important work, but they did not attend medical school.
What makes this even more important is that falls are one of the leading causes of emergency department visits worldwide. And dizziness is not always caused by “ear crystals.”
We are always happy to see true BPPV, because crystals that are out of place in the inner ear are usually easier to identify and resolve. But dizziness and balance problems can also come from inappropriate gain of your vestibular and eye reflexes.
So should you just try the home remedy your neighbor told you about to put the “ear crystals” back?
Or should we conduct a thorough dizziness and balance evaluation first, so we can determine the type of fire we are fighting and treat it appropriately?
What kind of dizziness are we dealing with?
- Vertigo
- Non-rotational dizziness
- Imbalance
- A see-saw or “on a dock” feeling
- Peripheral vestibular dysfunction
- Central vestibular dysfunction
The right treatment depends on knowing whether the problem is coming from the inner ear, the brain, the nervous system, or the way your vestibular and eye reflexes are working together.

Issues anywhere along this diagram can be the culprit, or one of the culprits, behind your ongoing dizziness and balance problems.
The real question is: have all of these areas been thoroughly examined?
If not, it may be easy to miss the true cause of your vertigo, imbalance, or vestibular symptoms.

Dr. Frank utilizes advanced training, clinical experience, and cutting-edge therapies to help identify the cause of dizziness and imbalance, including vertigo.
His advanced training and expertise make him a valuable resource when dizziness is not related to ear stones or simple BPPV. If you have tried everything else and are still dealing with dizziness, imbalance, or vestibular symptoms, we are here to help.

Dizziness can be described in several different ways:
Pre-syncope:
Feeling lightheaded, faint, or like you might pass out. This can happen when standing up too quickly.
Disequilibrium:
Feeling off balance. Disequilibrium is the sensation of not being able to maintain your balance, often with a tendency to veer to one side or the other.
Vertigo:
Feeling like everything is spinning in circles.
Vertigo is the sensation of spinning or motion when you are not actually moving. The most common form is often related to crystals, or “ear stones,” in the inner ear becoming displaced.
Vertigo can be caused by an inner ear problem, which is called peripheral vertigo. When it comes from an issue in the brainstem, which helps regulate balance and equilibrium, it is called central vertigo.
Non-specific dizziness:
Feeling “funny” or hard to describe. In this case, dizziness may feel like something you cannot quite put your finger on. It may show up as unsteadiness, fatigue, disorientation, or even an “out of body” sensation.
It is not always stones or ear crystals. If you are dealing with ongoing dizziness, vertigo, imbalance, or unexplained symptoms, always seek an in-depth evaluation of your health concerns.

Some symptoms of vertigo or dizziness may point us toward a more serious underlying condition.
These may include issues related to:
1. Brain circulation and/or blood flow
2. Neurodegeneration
3. Infections
4. Heart disease
5. Hormone imbalances
6. Autoimmune disease

The most advanced Video Oculography (Nystagmography, Eye movements, Gravity sensors, Cognitive function, and more) in North Central Florida.

Dr. Frank can tell the direction you feel you are spinning just by watching your eyes! He will review these videos with his clients so they can understand the “why” behind prescribed exercises and see their path back to not being dizzy.
In healthcare, you cannot treat a metabolic issue with a structural adjustment. FFNG applies a firefighter's strategy: Identify the specific type of fire, then apply the correct extinguishing agent.
FAQ
Traditional insurance-based medicine often relies on a structural view, meaning they look at the "hardware" of the body to find physical damage like broken bones or tumors. If your scan shows no structural issues, you are typically told you are fine. At FFNG, we look through a different lens by evaluating the "software". We analyze how your brain's networks communicate and whether they have the proper metabolic fuel to operate, allowing us to target the underlying dysfunction rather than just managing symptoms.
The B.E.A.C.O.N. Protocol is our comprehensive diagnostic approach designed to test your functional capacity, not just your structure. Because neurological symptoms are driven by network failures, we evaluate major systems simultaneously:
- Balance (Computerized Posturography)
- Eye Movements (VOG Diagnostics)
- Autonomic Function (Blood Pressure, Digestion, Bioresonance)
- Cognitive Function
- Orthopedic Evaluation
- Neurological Evaluation
Many patients come to us frustrated and exhausted after traditional medicine has labeled them "undiagnosable" because their MRIs or CT scans appear "normal". We specialize in solving these complex medical mysteries by using a multi-lens approach—assessing mechanical, metabolic, and neurological integration—to find the root cause of chronic pain, brain fog, and dizziness
FFNG was founded by Dr. Alexander Frank, a former firefighter, and his background drives our core clinical philosophy: "If a door is not available, we make a door". We approach health like putting out a towering inferno. Just as water won't put out a grease fire, you cannot treat a metabolic issue with a structural adjustment. We determine the specific type of "fire" (mechanical, metabolic, or energetic) to apply the correct "extinguishing agent".
We act as healthcare detectives for complex cases involving Concussions, Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI), developmental issues, dizziness, vertigo, dysautonomia (such as POTS), tinnitus, gut and digestive issues, migraines, and chronic pain.
We leave no stone unturned, which is why our "Deep Dive" intake process consists of four distinct steps:
1 The Paperwork: You provide your full medical history so we can find what others may have missed.
2 The Analysis: Our clinical team reviews your file before you arrive to ensure you are a candidate for our care.
3 The Exam: A comprehensive, system-by-system evaluation utilizing aerospace-grade technology like VOG and CAPS.
4 The Intensive: Most patients undergo an intensive 1-week or 8-week targeted treatment program.
Yes. To maximize the value of your care, all new patient documents must be completed and returned prior to scheduling the initial evaluation appointment. This allows our team ample time to review your history so your in-office time is spent face-to-face. For complex cases, we also ask for a detailed timeline of your health issues and previous interventions.
We have specific clinical pathways for patients with unresolved histories. These include Accident & Trauma Care (substantiation and rehab for whiplash and mild TBI), Dizziness & Balance (vestibular rehabilitation for vertigo and POTS), Headache & Facial Pain (targeting neural drivers of migraines and trigeminal neuralgia), and our track for the "Undiagnosable" patient
We combine traditional neurological and orthopedic care with state-of-the-art clinical neuroscience technologies. This includes Videonystagmography (VOG) to map real-time brain function and sensory integration, Computerized Posturography (CAPS) to precisely measure vestibular stability, and Molecular Hydrogen Therapy to reduce oxidative stress and systemic inflammation.
We treat the "hardware" to restore mechanical integrity and ensure your body can support neurological recovery. To do this, we use Advanced Chiropractic techniques, including Upper Cervical and Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT), which allow for gentle, non-twisting structural correction. We also utilize Class 3B LASER Therapy, Kinesiology Taping, and Spinal Decompression.
SoftWave Tissue Regeneration Technologies (TRT) is an advanced Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy that we use to lower inflammation, recruit stem cells, and regenerate damaged tissue.
Absolutely. Metabolic Fuel is one of our core service pillars. We believe that "Food is Fuel," and clinical nutrition is heavily utilized to dampen systemic inflammation and provide the necessary metabolic fuel to repair your brain and body.
Yes, FFNG is partnered with the cutting-edge Sozo Brain Center to bring the absolute latest in clinical neurosciences and neuromodulation to our patients. We are proudly the only provider in the United States partnered with this specific neuromodulation center.
No. We do not offer quick fixes, guarantees, or exaggerated miracle claims. We are a clinical neurology group, not a wellness or spa clinic. We provide precision, systems-level neurological rehabilitation that requires dedication and active participation, which is why our care often involves intensive 8-week recovery journeys to create lasting, structural change.
